4 Rides You Need to Go on at Hong Kong Disneyland

hong kong disneyland rides
This year I visited Hong Kong Disneyland for the second time. Even though it isn’t as big as some of the other Disney resorts it still has some great rides that are definitely worth going on! These are the top four rides that you need to go on if you get to visit Hong Kong Disneyland!

4. Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars

As you can see from the map, this rollercoaster is pretty big and takes up most of Grizzly Gluch. Hong Kong Disneyland doesn’t have any rides that loop over or go upside down, which is great for babies like me but this ride is definitely the fastest one in the whole park. It goes way faster than you expect and it also goes backwards at one point.

3. Iron Man Experience

This ride only just opened December last year. It’s a 3D motion simulator where you are touring the Stark Expo in Hong Kong with Tony Stark when aliens attack. While you are waiting in the queue for the ride there’s lots of Stark tech and weapons from over the years to look at which is pretty cool. The ride itself is the best motion simulator that I’ve been on. Everything that happens feels almost real. After the ride, you can also go into the Stark Expo where you get to meet Iron Man!

Ride tip: I have pretty bad motion sickness but I handled it quite well. If you’re gonna go on it and you start feeling sick then just look away from the screen and you’ll be fine.

2. Mickey’s Philarmagic

I didn’t manage to get a photo of this myself. This isn’t a ride technically. It’s a 3D short film, but it is the best 3D that I have ever seen. It stars Donald Duck but it also has loads of different characters like Ariel, Peter Pan, Aladdin and Jasmine. I actually got emotional watching this the first time.

Ride tip: Get to the front row. There’s a new screen every 10 minutes so if you arrive late to one screen then just wait it out until the next. On the row front, the 3D becomes 4D. You’ll be lightly splashed with water, smell things, feel the wind blowing. It’s still great to watch from the rows further back but I’d recommend the front row to get the full immersive experience.

1. Mystic Manor

This is by far the best ride I’ve been on. Not just at any Disney park. It’s the best ride I’ve been on period. They have a similar one in Disneyland Paris called the Haunted Mansion but it is shit compared to this one. You spend the first half of the ride walking and getting a tour of the manor, then you get on the actual ride and it is amazing. The lights and the animatronics are so good. It so immersive and fun and the little monkey that you follow around the ride is the cutest thing ever!

If you visit Hong Kong Disneyland make it a priority to go on this ride!

Thanks for reading! What is your favourite Disney park ride? Hong Kong Disneyland has loads of other rides but these four are my favourites.
